Empirical Outpost

On the furthest reaches of the outer rim lies the luxury of the empire’s crown jewel. Only the finest for those leaders of industry, politics, military, entertainment, and media awaits them here at V-1. This virgin world had no self aware alien life, its natural beauty knew not of the ravenous hunger for production the empire brought with it. For even in this idealistic get away outpost, those with power wanting to get away didn’t understand they wanted only to get away from themselves. They’d bring their endless games, their gaudy and flamboyant expressions of self, and an appetite for admiration that extended outwards to all who surrounded them and inwards into their own hearts. The beating heart of selfish people manifest in a crudely beautiful station, a construct of relentless consumption and power manifest as a dot on this blank canvas of a distant world wonderfully ignorant to the ways of the empire. Why didn’t they wake up and ask? Where were they going? When will they get there? Is there an age they’ll call complete?
